Intensive Norwegian Summer Course

for Exchange Students

Intensive Norwegian Summer Course

PLEASE NOTE: The plans for the 2025 Summer Course is currently under revison, and a number of changes are expected. All information on this page is therefore subject to change. More information is coming.

The Norwegian Summer Course is offered to new exchanges students at Ì«Ñô³Çapp Trondheim campus.

The course is  a good way to learn Norwegian while making new friends and learning about Norway and Trondheim. Every summer, we welcome up to 140 students from all over the world.

Course dates:

The planned dates for 2025 is 30 July to 15 August.

The course is organized by the Ì«Ñô³Çapp’s Unit for International Relations, and is only open for new exchange students at Ì«Ñô³Çapp, campus Trondheim.

The language course

The language course is a combination of intensive lessons with our experienced team of teachers and a more practice-oriented approach coordinated by our language assistants. Because of the intensive nature of the course, it is extremely important that you take part from the very beginning. It is not possible to arrive late, or work part-time during the course.

Social programme

The social programme is an integral part of the language course. Teambuilding in the context of your host country is our main goal, and our focus is on outdoor activities. We want to create a social arena where you make new friends and get to know your new home in the best way possible.

We will do our best to accommodate students with special needs/disabilities in the social programme. Please contact us for more information

If you want to apply for one of the Norwegian for Foreigners courses taught during the autumn semester, the deadline is 1 June.

Please note that in most cases exchange students are offered only one Norwegian course per semester, due to a limited number of places. If you are offered a place for the Intensive Norwegian Summer Course, you will most likely not be offered a place in a language course in the autumn semester.
