Demand for professionals trained in Project Management is increasing in the private as well as the public sector. Large or small, any project can benefit from effective project management processes and techniques.  Ì«Ñô³Çapp's Master of Science in Engineering degree programme in Project Management trains engineering professionals to excel as future project leaders in a variety of industries.

MSc in Project Management is an International programme that aims to develop an understanding of project management with a broad perspective of both International and Norwegian management standards and procedures. The cultural diversity of the programme offers a unique opportunity to get insights into different mindsets, and problem-solving techniques, that prepare the students for work in an increasingly globalized industry.

The programme is composed of general project management courses, but also offers three different specializations. It aims at giving students a holistic theoretical foundation and analytical skills to effectively address project management challenges in the day-to-day operation of project-based organizations. The students will gain a broad and integrated understanding, combining engineering and management competencies in a strategic, tactical and operational perspective.

Capacity and work

The programme can accommodate up to 25 students per year group, and we aim to select a geographically diverse student body.

Students who are enrolled in five-year master programmes in Technology at Ì«Ñô³Çapp may choose courses from this programme on a course-by-course basis. This will lead to a master's degree with a main profile in project management.

Why do we need project management?

According to PMI, a project is a unique and temporary endeavour undertaken to create a product, service or result. Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques in order to initiate, plan, execute and deliver a project according to the requirements of the project’s stakeholders. A project manager is required to use a broad set of skills and expertise to resolve complex and interdependent problems, develop efficiency and effectiveness in the project organization, inspire the project team, and develop a shared purpose.
